Abstract
The magnitude of global financial and economic crises in recent years have increased significantly and become almost unbearable, causing investors to lose confidence in the whole financial system. A wide range of internal and external factors can certainly influence the intensity of a financial crisis. Research papers however indicate that the recent crises since 1996 have been more damaging, in large part, due to the inability of economic sustainability by corporations predominantly caused by lack of transparency about economic, environmental, and social impacts. Therefore, we have conducted a research about the sustainability reporting in Turkish Airlines (THY), which happens to be the largest airline company in Turkey, as well as an important global player in the airline industry. The paper is organized around the results of this research and provides some implications for THY and also for the industry.
